As a Buddhist practitioner, I coach from a space of intuition and mindfulness, and my technique came from Executive coaching frameworks from Columbia University and Yale University.

Angel is a brilliant thought leader, coach, educator, and researcher. I've had the pleasure of calling them both a colleague and friend for several years, and with each year, I find myself increasingly inspired, and impacted, by their practice, perspective, and genius.
We first became familiar with one another through Group Relations Conferences and later had the opportunity to work more closely as Angel transitioned to San Diego for their doctoral studies. Working with Angel Hu as a coach/facilitator for Horizon Scholars Cohort 3 felt very calming, open, and expansive. Angel created space for us to think more deeply about our legacy, our relationship to justice, and how our own cultural stories shape the way we understand and communicate that work. One thing I especially appreciated was the way Angel brought cultural references and their own lived experience into the facilitation. Our conversations felt grounded in the actual time, place, and moment we were in. For example, during one of our gatherings around Lunar New Year, Angel used the transition from the Year of the Snake into the Fire Horse as a lens for thinking about transformation such as what we might be shedding, what we are moving toward, and what that transition asks of us. That particular approach invited us to think beyond conventional leadership language and explore more culturally expansive, even decolonized, ways of telling our stories and understanding our legacies. That is certainly a testament to the intention of the Horizon program itself, but Angel was a meaningful guide in helping us stay within that spirit. They helped create a space where reflection, culture, justice, and our own lived experiences could all coexist as part of the conversation and experience.
